History of Mallappally Block Panchayat

Initially, Mallappally was part of the Thiruvalla Taluk in Alappuzha district. Following the formation of Pathanamthitta district in 1982, the Mallappally Taluk was constituted on June 9, 1983, by separating eight villages from the Thiruvalla Taluk. The Mallappally Block Panchayat was established with the aim of fostering local development within the boundaries of this taluk.
